Meet Dr. Swisher

We are happy to announce that Dr. Sam Swisher has joined our practice and is seeing patients.

Dr. Sam Swisher attended the University of Central Missouri for his undergraduate studies and, in 2011, received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He then attended the University of Missouri – St. Louis College of Optometry where he graduated in 2015 with a Doctor of Optometry degree.

Prior to graduation, Dr. Swisher completed a year of clinical rotations at a variety of eye care clinics.  The majority of his experience was gained at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri, where Sam provided quality eye care for several months.  Dr. Swisher also gained valuable experience working at multiple community health clinics in the St. Louis area.  He gained further experience working in a specialty contact lens practice fitting many types of contact lenses.

Upon graduation, Dr. Swisher became a member of the American Optometric Association and the Missouri Optometric Association.  Dr. Swisher recently moved to the southwest Missouri area and is looking forward to getting more involved in the community.

Dr. Swisher grew up in Warrensburg, Missouri. He met his wife, Katie, while attending the University of Central Missouri. Katie is a teacher for St. Paul’s preschool. In his spare time, Dr. Swisher enjoys spending time with his family and friends, running, and golfing.
